Hoa Phat is one of the leading private industrial production groups in Vietnam which has affirmed its trademark both domestically and internationally with a series of high-grade products, namely steel pipes, interior furniture and household electric appliances.
Starting its trade in the field of construction machines in 1992, Hoa Phat was restructured into a group, involved in different sectors and having stock listed on the Vietnamese stock market in 2007.
The group now consists of 13 affiliates which are operating in the aspects of steel production, mining, coke production, real estate, interior furniture, machines and construction equipment with many factories built in Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.
Among its production zones, it is worth mentioning the group’s Steel Integrated complex built in an area of 132ha in 2007 in Kinh Mon, Hai Duong. The complex with a capacity of 850,000tonnes/year and the self-contained high-furnace technology from ore to finished steel is run by the Hoa Phat Steel Joint-stock Company.
Visiting the complex and witnessing the factory operating at full capacity all round the clock, the ground full of ore and coke and a bustling atmosphere at the entrepot with boats going in and out one can see the group’s strong development.
Hoa Phat has become one of the largest steel manufacturers in Vietnam and is famous for its steel pipe trademark. The group accounts for the largest market share with about 200,000tonnes/year with major products of welded steel pipes, galvanized steel pipes, hot dipped galvanized steel pipes, rectangle steel pipes and galvanized coil flats which are also exported to North American countries and ASEAN. Steel production and related products now account for 80% of the group’s total revenue.
Regarding construction equipment, the group manufactured tower cranes, scaffolding, stone, ore and sand crushers of a large capacity, construction hoists and mast lifters which are also exported to Laos, Cambodia, Russia, Ukraine, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
One of the group’s strengths is interior furniture with different categories of modern and high-quality products which bring the group about 1,000 billion dong/year.
In recent years, the group has strongly developed household electric appliances, such as Funiki branded water heaters using the ELCB and air conditioners which are competitive with strong foreign brand names.
For over 22 years, the group has contributed to socio-economic development in many localities, providing direct jobs for 10,000 labourers and 20,000 indirect employees nationwide. It is also a pioneer in domesticating production in Vietnam.
