“Vietnamese Soul”

Recently, designers of Genova - a famous Vietnamese jeans brand name introduced to viewers a collection named “Hon Viet” (Vietnamese Soul) with unique designs.

To praise the beauty and strong vitality of traditional costumes, Vietnamese designers recreated various traditional costumes from the period of Au Lac (258 BC), using mainly denim.
On the catwalk, some costumes were displayed with a feather attached to a hat made from denim. It was a striking feature of the collection.

The designers also replaced traditional silk materials with denim to create delicate brassieres with skilful cuts and embroidered threads that helped the wearers look charming. The brassieres were coordinated with feminine ragged skirts. The collection also consisted of Ao ba ba (loose fitting blouse), Ao dai (traditional long dress) and Ao tu than (four-panel traditional dress). Although these traditional costumes were designed using denim, they looked graceful thanks to classic styles. Furthermore, the harmonious combination between traditional styles and modern materials brought a new vitality to Vietnamese traditional costumes.
Performed with the background of mysterious music and the sound of wooden clogs, the collection reminded viewers of the image of Vietnam in the past. It was the imprint of Genova Jeans during the process of discovering the beauty of Vietnamese traditional costumes.
