Located near the Sai Gon River, Bach Dang Wharf which consists of a wharf and a park has become an attracting destination of the locals and tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City.
Bach Dang Wharf is in the centre of District 1, near the Monument of General Tran Hung Dao which was built on Ton Duc Thang Street to commemorate the glorious victory against the Yuanmeng invaders in 1288 on the Bach Dang River.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Sai Gon – Ho Chi Minh City (1699-1998), Bach Dang Park was upgraded with some architectures to serve the locals and tourists. Bach Dang Wharf has a total area of about 23,400m2 with a length of 1.3km and it is a green space of the city.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee permitted Saigontourist to invest, exploit and manage Bach Dang Wharf and develop the area to become an exciting tourist site on the river with many entertainment services. Up to early June, 2013, Saigontourist introduced seven tours on the river, starting from Bach Dang Wharf to other destinations on the outskirts of the city and surrounding provinces that initially drew a large number of tourists. It also is the first step of the process of developing tourism on the river into a key tourist product of Ho Chi Minh City and the wharf has become a centre of transporting tourists.
The area also concludes floating restaurants and convenient services. It, together with Nha Rong Wharf and the headquarters of Sai Gon Port with its special architecture form a tourist triangle in Ho Chi Minh City.
When the city lights up, Bach Dang Wharf looks brilliant and bustling with many people flocking to the park to enjoy the pure air and windy space. Colourful boats and canoes with many levels are ready to serve tourists discovering the city at night on the river.
