Unlike previous years when only women’s fashions were shown, this year’s event saw the launch of Vietnamese fashion brands for men; Viet Tien, Veston Ngoc Lan, Butuni and Owen.
Young designer Lam Gia Khang opened the fashion event with his collection, Gia Studio, which was inspired by elegant but resilient ballet dancers.
Five young designers who graduated from London College for Design and Fashion in 2018 added colors to the fashion week with their creative designs.
The event also showcased the unique collections of Duquevelez from Colombian designer Duque Veslez and the Jovana Louis collection from Haitian designer Jovana Benoit.
To mark the 14th anniversary of the Vietnam-Turkey relationship, Turkish designer Mehmet Koymen brought 32 designs from his collection “Love Land” hoping that bilateral cooperation in fashion continues.
“Vietnam International Fashion Week has helped open the door for Vietnamese fashion designers to integrate their styles into the rest of the world, helping realize the dream of turning Vietnam into a country with a developed fashion industry,” said Le Thi Quynh Trang, chairwoman of Vietnam International Fashion Week.

 Vietnam International Fashion Week 2018 was held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.  The event drew many designers and popular brands.  It showcased impressive collections from local and foreign designers.  The event helps open a door for Vietnamese designers to integrate their styles into the rest of the world. |
