US-DPRK Summit 2019: US, DPRK leaders have constructive meeting, says White House

Spokesperson of the White House Sarah Sanders announced on February 28 that US President Donald Trump and leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un had a very good and constructive meeting in the past two days.

In a statement delivered in Hanoi, Sanders said the two leaders discussed ways to advance denuclearisation and economic-driven concepts.

Though no agreement was reached at this time, the respective teams look forward to meeting in the future, she said.

Earlier in Hanoi, the two leaders unexpectedly concluded negotiations earlier than schedule and left Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Hotel for Marriot and Melia hotels.

They did not have lunch together as planned.
