Hanoi, September 18 (VNA) - The Prime Minister has decided to allocate 234.5 billion VND (11 million USD) from the State budget for 14 provinces in order help them overcome the aftermath of droughts and saltwater intrusion.

The beneficiaries include the northern province of Lai Chau; Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan and Binh Thuan in the central region; and Long An, Tra Vinh, Can Tho, An Giang and Dong Thap in the south.

Of those, Quang Ngai province will receive the largest amount of 23.4 billion VND (1.1 million USD).

The PM asked the localities to actively allot their local budgets to ensure the consequences of droughts and seawater intrusion during this year’s winter-spring and summer-autumn crops will be surmounted.
