The wedding dress made of flowers

Looking at the unique wedding dress, one can’t help wondering how a girl without any art training could have applied such a striking colour blend in her work. It took Luong, together with six others, two days of hard work to finish the dress. “All I do is just to satisfy my passion for flowers,” said Luong, satisfied with her work.

Born in Nghi Tam, a century-old flower-growing village in Hanoi, Le Thi Luong has a passion for flowers. Whenever passing by a flower shop, the graduate of Hoa Sua Vocational Training School always wished to have such a fortune.

Luong could finally realize her dream when she managed to have a flower shop of her own, Lyly, at 40 Yen Phu Street, Hanoi, with the money she saved during the years of working as a flower vendor.

It was in her very shop that Luong’s incentives for the flowers arose. Her first work was a 50 m-high wedding bouquet from 50,000 flowers. No sooner had Luong finished the huge bouquet than she manipulated a 50-kg wedding dress with seven colourful hues from 20,000 flowers. This unique dress is plaited from purple bach nhat (a flower that keeps its freshness and colour for a long time), Da Lat daisy and orchid of various colours. Without lace or patterns of a conventional wedding dress, yet the flowery dress still owns an enchanting beauty.

The 25-year-old girl is now the owner of a 300-sq. m flower supermarket which displays over 200 varieties from well-known flower villages of Hanoi, Sa Pa, Sai Gon, Da Lat and also China and Netherlands. Here one can not only buy high-quality flowers at low prices but also participate in flower-arranging classes free of charge and meetings of “Flower lovers’ club” for flower study and competitions.

With her love for flowers, Luong will surely have more original creations in the future.

Blooming Flowers amid Rocks

Blooming Flowers amid Rocks

Dong Van Stone Plateau (Ha Giang) is a place where the terrain is tough, the people are “bound to the rocks in life and death”, the land is rough, and the weather is unpredictable. Then in spring, peach and plum blossoms and canolas suddenly bloom, turning the entirely grey rocky area into a breathtaking wonder.
