Spring-Summer Fashion Week 2012

To prepare for the spring-summer fashion season 2012, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vinatas) coordinated with the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) to organize spring-summer fashion week 2012. The fashion week showed 700 designs by 25 domestic designers. It is an annual great event of Vietnam’s fashion industry.

During three evening shows at the Daewoo Hotel, Hanoi, audiences easily recognized the overwhelming trend of this season, using cool and light materials as chiffon, elastic, khaki, canvas, jeans, silk and satin and youthful colourful patterns of flowers and leaves. Young designers also applied 3D technology in making different styles. Therefore, the highly applicable designs not only looked smart and gentle but also showed the strong character of the wearers and the rhythms of modern life.

Le Tien Truong, Deputy General Director of Vinatex and Vice Chairman of Vinatas, said: “Fashion week is aimed at introducing customers to the new fashion trends in 2012, including designs using new materials, technology and colours.”

At the fashion show, designer Minh Hanh presented her collection with a classical style of the 1950s, including seductive models in loose forms that were highlighted by modern designing technology and a harmonious combination of Oriental and Occidental beauty. The “Vaporous Nature” collection by designer Quynh Paris was a mixture of art and nature. The “Flower” collection by Diegio Cortizas, the only foreign designer at this event, brought a new style to Vietnam’s fashion.

Besides youthful collections, suitable for the young, well-known fashion companies in Vietnam such as Viet Thang Garment Joint-stock Company and Thai Nguyen Garment Joint-stock Company also made public fashion collections for the purposes of working or going out, meeting the demand of the majority of older customers.
