Sa Giang Prawn Crackers

For over ten years, Sa Giang prawn cracker products made by Sa Giang Import-Export Joint-Stock Company (Sagimexco) have been known as a specialty of the southern province of Dong Thap Province which are not only sold in the domestic market, but also exported to many foreign countries around the world.
Sa Giang prawn crackers have been famous in South Vietnam since 1960. The traditional product is made of ground shrimp, sometimes mixed with cuttlefish, arrowroot flour, tapioca flour, onion, garlic, sugar, fish sauce, cracked black pepper and salt. The ingredients are mixed well and then stuffed into long tube-shaped bags which are steamed and sliced into thin rounds before being fried. At present, all the stages of making prawn crackers are made by modern machines that help maintain nutrition and ensure food safety and hygiene.
