Dao Khanh Hiep, owner of mama fanbox, said that when working in Japan as a software engineer, he was interested in this type of shop, so he was determined to open such a coffee shop in Vietnam. Initially, his crazy idea did not receive support from his family members, but he tried his best to prove that he was right. According to Hiep, during the first days of the shop, customers had to book with their ID number on the shop’s website, but now anyone can go to the shop.
The self-service café has operated smoothly for six months.“Only one time was the shop short one thousand dong (about 5 cents). If I had known the shop was going to do so well, I would have opened a larger one. My family members now are on board and have decided to open a series of its type in Hanoi,” Khanh Hiep said.

Customers can leave their feedbacks at the shop.  The owner of the shop takes money and invoices from the box.  Feedbacks from customers are hung on the wall. |
