My Dong casting village

My Dong village in Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong is well-known for its traditional craft of casting iron.
After numerous changes, the craft is increasingly being developed and providing thousands of jobs. More than 200 enterprises and workshops have engaged in the casting with various products, including decorative items and utensils.

Unlike the tranquility on the streets due to COVID-19, Viet Mui casting workshop in My Dong village is still bustling with 10 busy craftsmen.

After being classified, recycled iron is put into the kiln at 1200oC and then the liquid iron is poured into molds. The raw products, once cooled are processed, smoothed and polished.



My Dong village has developed its traditional craft of casting iron for hundreds years.
