Last session concludes, wrapping up 13th National Assembly

Hanoi, April 12 (VNA) – The 11 th and also the last session of the 13 th National Assembly (NA) wound up in the morning of April 12 after about three weeks of working on the new leadership and other major issues of Vietnam.

The televised-live closing plenum was attended by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan, along with former Party, State and NA leaders.

During the meeting, the deputies passed a resolution on the socio-economic development plan for 2016 – 2020.

They also approved another resolution summarising the 2011 – 2016 performance of the NA, the President, the Government, the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam.

After that, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan delivered a closing speech to conclude the 11 th session.

The election of the 14 th parliament is scheduled to take place on May 22, which is a Sunday.
