Francophone Film Festival to take place in Vietnam

Hanoi, March 4 (VNA) – Vietnam’s movie lovers will have a chance to enjoy the Francophone community’s cinema works winning international prestigious awards as a film festival will be held in Vietnam next week.

The Francophone Film Festival 2016, jointly organised by the International Francophone Organisation (OIF) and the Vietnam Cinema Department, will take place in Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City from March 17-31.

During the fortnight event, nine films will be on screen, including Timbuktu, Le Jour des Corneilles, and Belle et Sebastien (France); Kinshasa Kids, Les Oiseauz de Passage (Belgium); Tapis Rouge (Switzerland); Le Choeur d’une Culture (Canada); and Asmma (Egypt).

The 19th Vietnam Film Festival 2015’s Golden Lotus award winner “Toi thay hoa vang tran co xanh” (Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass) will be presented on the occasion.
