European Book Days underway in three cities

The 2019 European Book Days kicked off simultaneously in the three major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang on May 2.

The ninth edition of the event is organised by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), in collaboration with the embassies of EU member states in Vietnam.

It draws the participation of 10 European countries and comprises of various activities, including book presentations, exhibitions, discussions on European literature and screenings of books’ adaptations.

Notably, a writing contest on characters in European literature will be launched at the event.

The ninth European Book Days will run through May 25.
