Airways, railway offer extra services during upcoming holidays

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budget airline Jetstar Pacific will provide nearly 1 million seats (equivalent to 4,700 flights) in domestic and international routes, to meet the travelling demand on the upcoming Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labour Day (May 1) holiday.

Vietnam Airlines will offer roughly 800,000 seats, a rise by 78,000 seats year-on-year; while Jetstar Pacific will provide nearly 200,000 seats for flights, between April 26 and May 5.

They will be arranged mainly on the major domestic flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang; as well as international routes between Vietnam and Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and Cambodia.

During peak times, passengers are advised to take advantage of online check-in services or airport kiosks to save time before departure, as well as purchase tickets on the two airlines’ websites: www.vietnamairlines.com and www.jetstar.com/vn or official offices to avoid fraudulent and overpriced tickets.

The Vietnam Railway Corporation planned to add 130 more trains from April 25 to May 5 in order to meet the increasing travelling demand during the National Reunification Day and May Day.

Particularly, 43 trains across the Northern region, including additional 41 trains with 20,000 seats for Hanoi- Ho Chi Minh City route will be mobilized.

The Vietnam railways also planned to provide 87 more trains departing from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai, Hanoi and vice versa, and nearly 43,500 seats going from Nha Trang to Hue and vice versa.
