HCM City, March 7 (VNA) - A baby was born on a flight from HCM City to Da Nang, more than 10,000m above ground.
Budget airline Jetstar Pacific announced that a pregnant passenger went into labour 45 minutes after flight BL590 took off from HCM City’s Tan Son Nhat airport on its way to Da Nang international airport on March 4.
The crew was called for help, as was a foreign doctor on the flight, and a boy, weighing 2.7kg was born safely.
The boy and his mother were then taken to Da Nang’s Pediatrics and Obstetrics hospital as soon as the aircraft landed at around 4.15pm.
It’s the second time that a baby was born on a Jetstar Pacific flight.
In 2011, an airhostess helped a woman give birth while on a flight from HCM City to Vinh.
