VN strive to be present at Futsal World Cup final round

Coach of Vietnam futsal team Miguel Rodrigo and his students are determined to stand among the top four of the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship as they did in 2016 to earn a ticket to the final round of the 2020 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on December 30 said Rodrigo has announced the list of 20 players to play for the 2018 Asian Futsal Championship’s final round, including experienced ones such as Van Huy, Van Vu, Duc Hoa, Trong Luan, Quoc Nam, and Ngoc Son.

The coach also pins his hopes in new players, including the best goalkeeper of the National Futsal Championship 2017 Nguyen Hoang Anh, Nguyen Dac Huy, Chu Van Tien, and Nguyen Anh Duy.

The Vietnam futsal team are scheduled to gather in Ho Chi Minh City on January 2.

The final round of the 2018 AFC Futsal Championship will take place in Taiwan (China) from February 1-11 with the participation of 16 teams divided into four groups.

In the qualifying matches, Vietnam will complete with Malaysia on February 1, Bahrain on February 3, and Chinese Taipei on February 5.-VNA/VNP
