Vietnamese journalists make study tour of RoK

A 20-member delegation from Vietnam’s Academy of Journalism and Communication paid a study tour of the Republic of Korea (RoK) from July 29-August 12.

The programme was under a project funded the by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by the Korea University of the Republic of Korea, aiming to improve the Vietnamese academy’s ability to carry out Government policies.

The delegation learnt about journalistic trends in the digital era; journalism and global trends in communication; the role and significance of public relations (PR); Government and public service PR; and the RoK Government’s PR campaigns.

The tour also offered a chance for Vietnamese guests to learn about the RoK’s history and culture.

The delegation also visited press agencies of the RoK and joined practice sessions on setting up communication-related action plans.

The tour helped promote cooperation between the Academy of Journalism and Communication and the Korea University, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-RoK friendship.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to UNESCO, presented the initiative at the meeting, emphasising its overarching objective of promoting the vital role of culture in advancing sustainable development in nations, while contributing to address the world’s complex challenges to ensure a safe and prosperous future for all.
