Vietnamese film screened at Busan film festival

Hanoi, September 13 (VNA) - Director Tran Buu Loc has brought his film “Co Ba Sai Gon” (The Tailor) to the 22nd Busan International Film Festival, which opened on September 12 in Busan city, the Republic of Korea. 

The film, highlighting Vietnam’s traditional Ao dai (long dress) and starring Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, is enlisted in A Window on Asian Cinema, one of the ten main sections of the festival. 

Last year, Vietnam sent the film “Tam Cam: Chuyen Chua Ke” (Tam Cam: The Untold Story) to the festival. 

Busan International Film Festival, started in 1996, has become one of the most important film festivals in Asia, presenting an opportunity for film makers to introduce their works to viewers across the world. 

The event will run until October 21.

Accordingly, between January and March, rice output reached 3.64 million tonnes; livestock production attained 2.28 million tonnes of meat, up 4.9%; fisheries output reached 2.7 million tonnes, up 3.3%; and forestry production totalled 12 million cubic metres of timber, an increase of over 3%. The sector’s export turnover reached 16.69 billion USD, up 5.9%, with a trade surplus of 4.78 billion USD, up 12%.
