Vietnam reiterates importance of US ties after Trump’s election

Hanoi, November 10 (VNA) – Vietnam always attaches importance to its friendship and cooperation with the US, the Foreign Ministry spokesman cited a November 9 message of Vietnamese leaders to President-elect Donald Trump in response to questions on Vietnam’s reaction to the US Presidential election.

Spokesperson Le Hai Binh said on November 10 that President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent their message of congratulations to the US President-elect on November 9.

He also quoted the message as saying that Vietnam wants the two nations to continue intensifying the comprehensive partnership in a substantive, stable, sustainable and long-term manner, especially in economy, trade and investment, science-technology, education-training, defence, security, while beefing up cooperation in regional and international issues.
