Vietnam nominated for six prizes at 2019 World Travel Awards

Vietnam has been nominated for six prestigious prizes at the 2019 World Travel Awards (WTA) which is scheduled to take place later this year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Among the prizes, Vietnam as a country has received nominations in the World’s Leading Destination, Culinary Destination, and Cultural Destination categories.

In addition, the capital city of Hanoi and the ancient city of Hoi An have been selected to compete for the titles of World’s Leading City Destination and World’s Leading Cultural City Destination, respectively.

Furthermore, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is in contention for the World’s Leading Tourist Board.

The award ceremony for the Asian region is slated to be held in Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island in the southern province of Kien Giang on October 12, while the global event is set to get underway in Muscat, Oman in November.

The deadline for voting for Vietnam is October 20 at the WTA’s website http://www.worldtravelawards.com/vote.

First held in 1993, the annual WTA aims to honour outstanding destinations and high-quality tourism service providers.

The delegation, led by Eric Mathet, Operational Lead, the IAEA’s Nuclear Infrastructure Development Section, evaluated the current status of Vietnam’s national nuclear infrastructure according to the assessment criteria outlined by the IAEA for Stage 2 – assessing the readiness of a country to invite bids or negotiate contracts for the construction of its first nuclear power plant.
