Vietnam named among top 11 of world’s healthiest countries

Vietnam has been listed among the top 11 healthiest countries in the world, according to the Global Wellness Index (GWI) published by investment firm LetterOne.

Out of the 151 nations evaluated for the list, Vietnam was ranked in 11th place while Canada took the number one position.

A host of other Asian countries also made the list’s top 11 including the Philippines in 4th, Maldives in 5th, Singapore in 7th, Laos in 8th, the Republic of Korea in 9th, and Cambodia in 10th.

The GWI’s evaluation is based on a number of key metrics, including blood pressure, blood glucose, obesity, depression, government healthcare  spending, alcohol use, smoking, happiness, and healthy life expectancy.

Vietnam continues to promote role as active, responsible member of UNESCO

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, led a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 11th Session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, and promote the country’s heritage nomination dossiers and cooperation activities with UNESCO in Paris, France, from June 16 - 19.
