Mexico City, November 25 (VNA) - Mexico treasures ties with Vietnam, Mexican Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos de Icaza told Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Hoai Duong at a meeting in Mexican city on November 24.
The two countries are in a favourable stage for boosting bilateral relations in all fields, the Deputy FM said, emphasising that both sides should strengthen coordination in defining and implementing specific and practical cooperation programmes and projects.
At the same time, he pledged that Mexico’s Foreign Ministry will create optimal conditions for Ambassador Duong to fulfil his tasks during his term of office in Mexico.
For his part, Ambassador Duong said that Vietnamese leaders always pay due attention to bolstering traditional friendship and collaboration between the two countries.
He showed his determination to make contributions to the growth of the Vietnam-Mexico relations, matching the common interest of the two sides and for peace, stability and development in the Asia-Pacific region.
Vietnam is currently the seventh largest trade partner of Mexico in the Asia-Pacific region, while Mexico is Vietnam’s second biggest trade partner in the Latin America.
Mexico’s statistics showed that two-way trade in the first eight months of this year hit 3.12 billion USD.
