Vice President praises efforts of teachers in island areas

Hanoi, November 12 (VNA) – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh met in Hanoi on November 11 outstanding teachers who are working in island districts and communes across the country, praising their efforts in the education and training cause.

The Vice President wished them continue working in their profession and overcome difficulties in remote areas to provide knowledge and improve people’s literacy in island areas.

She stressed that education and training is a noble profession and the Party and State always give priority to the sector, considering it as a top national policy.

The teachers expressed their determination to stay with their schools, students and profession at the country’s outposts.

They proposed the Party and the State continue to pay more attention to education in border, remote and island areas.
The teachers are in Hanoi for a programme held in Hanoi on November 12 by the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam Youth Federation to honour teachers with significant contributions to the cause of education and training in 2016.

With support from the Embassy of Vietnam in the UK, Vietnamese associations across Europe, as well as business and artistic communities, the initiative seeks to establish the 'Ao dai' brand on the world fashion map. After London, the project is expected to travel to Paris and Milan, two of the world’s leading fashion capitals, to further showcase Vietnam’s cultural identity.
