President Trump was welcomed by Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam, Vice Chairman of the President’s Office Chu Van Yem, and Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Ha Kim Ngoc.

During his trip to Vietnam, President Trump will have meetings with Vietnamese high-ranking leaders.

This is the second time the US President has come to Vietnam. In November 2017, he paid an official visit to Vietnam and attended the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central coastal city of Da Nang.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney will attend bilateral and multilateral activities of President Trump in Hanoi.

The second summit between DPRK and USA leaders in Hanoi is considered an important political and diplomatic event of Vietnam in 2019, a vivid manifestation of Vietnam’s policy of being a friend and trustworthy partner of the international community. During only a short time, Vietnam has completed logistics, security and protocol preparations for the important international event, via which Vietnam wants to prove itself as a trustworthy partner and a safe and friendly destination for a sustainable peace.
