UN Secretary General sends sympathy over flood damage in central region
United Nations Secretary General António Guterres sent a message of sympathy to the Vietnamese Government and people on serious human and property losses caused by recent floods and landslides in several central provinces.
In his message, Guterres lauded the Vietnamese Government’s efforts to support affected families, affirming that the UN stays ready to provide Vietnam with humanitarian assistance to help the country overcome this difficult time soon.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-affiliated bodies and localities to step up coordination to ensure that people across the country enjoy a safe, well-supplied and orderly Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday 2026.
