Top legislator meets embassy staff, overseas Vietnamese in Singapore

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her hope for continued contributions from the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese community in Singapore to the two countries’ partnership.

Visiting the embassy on November 26 after arriving in Singapore for an official visit, Ngan said her visit aims to foster the bilateral strategic partnership and ties between the two legislative bodies, towards celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2018, and to open new cooperation prospects.

Praising the contributions made by the embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese in Singapore, the top legislator hoped that they will continue to prepare for the upcoming celebrations.

She briefed them on the outcomes of the Party Central Committee’s sixth session in October and the freshly-concluded fourth session of the 14th National Assembly, including the approval of the Law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Law on Overseas Representative Missions of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community in Singapore showed their hope that the State will maintain administrative procedure reforms in business and investment, continue supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises and investing more in scientific and education studies.
