Vietnamese weightlifter wins silver medal at World Championships

Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan earned a silver medal at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships in Thailand on September 18.

In the 55kg pool, he finished second in the snatch with a lift of 120kg. Om Yun from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) won the gold medal in this category.

Meanwhile, in the women’s 45kg event, Vietnamese weightlifter Khong My Phuong brought home a bronze medal in the snatch, and Vuong Thi Huyen bagged another bronze in the clean and jerk.

The IWF is a permanent non-profit organisation composed of 192 affiliated National Federations worldwide, from all five continents.
