Vietnamese, Chinese youths work together in festival

Hanoi, November 9 (VNA) – Vietnamese youngsters and their Chinese peers engaged in forums on cultural preservation, tourism development, environmental protection and sustainable development as part of the ongoing third Vietnam-China Youth festival on November 8.

At a forum on youths’ role in cultural protection and tourism development in the northern province of Bac Ninh, the young people learned about each country’s culture, boosting the Vietnam-China friendship.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Bac Ninh province Nguyen Nhan Chinh stressed that youths, as future owners of a nation, are a dynamic force in national development.

Secretary of China’s Communist Youth League in Wuhan province, Ye Jingwen, expressed his honour to attend the festival and visit craft villages and historical relic sites in Bac Ninh.

At a similar forum in Ninh Binh province, delegates shared knowledge about cultural preservation and sustainable tourism development and discussed promoting youths’ role in the efforts.

They visited an exhibition displaying nearly 200 photos on landscapes and relic sites in Ninh Binh province, and toured Bai Dinh pagoda and UNESCO-recognised Trang An Tourism Complex.

During the festival, Vietnamese and Chinese youngsters planted trees at Hung Vuong University in the northern midland province of Phu Tho to demonstrate solidarity and between the two Parties, States and peoples.

While in Phu Tho, the youths visited Thet Communal House in Kinh Duc commune, Viet Tri city, enjoyed Xoan singing and played folk games.

At a forum on youths’ role in environmental protection and sustainable development in the northern province of Lang Son, young people presented speeches and made paintings, focusing on protecting rivers, the environment and coping with climate change.

A tree-planting ceremony also took place in Lang Son province on November 8.
