Vietnam taekwondo wins first gold at martial arts mega event in RoK

Vietnam’s taekwondo team won the first gold medal at the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships in the Republic of Korea during their first day of competition on September 1.

Chau Tuyet Van, Nguyen Thi Le Kim and Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh overcame the host country’s athletes to take the gold in the women’s team event.

Tran Dang Khoa is competing in the men’s single event on September 2, while Chau Tuyen Van and Hua Van Huy will be tested in the mixed doubles.

In 2026, the province targets expanding its lychee-growing area to 29,800 ha with an expected output of 160,000 tonnes. Of this, 17,500 ha will be produced under VietGAP standards with an estimated yield of 125,000 tonnes; GlobalGAP-certified lychee areas will be maintained at 235 ha; and organic lychee areas at 10 ha.
