Vietnam calls for UK support in youth policies

Hanoi, April 12 (VNA) – Chairman of the group of the young National Assembly Deputies Nguyen Dac Vinh called on the UK Government and Foreign Ministry to continue their support for the Vietnamese NA in policies on youth and the young NA project.

During his meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in Hanoi on April 12, Vinh highlighted the comprehensive and effective strategic relationship between Vietnam and the UK in all fields, particularly in politics, diplomacy, economy, education and science-technology.

He said his 70-strong group has been established under a resolution of the NA Standing Committee, with the aim of creating a platform for young NA deputies to exchange ideas and share experience during the engagement in legislative activities as well as with members of foreign parliaments, Vinh said.

For his part, the UK Foreign Secretary pledged to continue supporting Vietnam in implementing the project “the Young NA” in a bid to enhance the capability of the young lagislators.

He also expressed his admiration of the beauty of the landscapes and people of Vietnam and hailed the significant socio-economic achievements Vietnam has made in recent years.
