Trang wins gold, Minh takes bronze from JE Wilson International

Vietnamese player Vu Thi Trang won the JE Wilson International Series badminton tournament which has ended in Ghana.

Trang defeated Mugdha Agrey of India 21-10, 21-6 in the women’s singles final to take the title.

Meanwhile, her teammate and husband Nguyen Tien Minh took home a bronze from the men’s singles.

Despite being the top seed, Minh lost 16-21, 21-10, 18-21 to unseeded George Kiran of India in the semi-finals.

Kiran went on to beat No 2 Ade Resky Dwicahyo of Azerbaijan to take the championship.

Trang and Minh will compete in the Lagos International Classics 2019 badminton tournament in Nigeria from July 24-27.
