Top Vietnamese player eliminated from ATP Challenger Savannah

 Top Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam was defeated in the second qualifying round of the ongoing ATP Challenger Savannah in the US on May 2.

Nam, number 418 on the ATP ranking, lost to Paolo Lorenzi from Italy, number 108 in the ranking, 0-2 (3-6, 2-6), in the men’s singles category.

Nam took a 3-1 lead in the first round, but the Italian player was able to complete a comeback to win 6-3.

Lorenzi showed continued strength in the second round to win 6-2.

After returning to Vietnam, Nam will join the Vietnamese team at the Davis Cup group three, Asia-Pacific region, held in the end of May in Singapore.
