The role of women in supply chain development and safe agricultural products consumption in the new situation

The Hanoi women's union cooperated with the department of agriculture and rural development to organize a workshop in the role of women in supply chain development and safe agricultural consumption .

The Hanoi women's union on June 22 cooperated with the Hanoi department of agriculture and rural development to organize a workshop in promoting the role of women in supply chain development and safe agricultural consumption in the new situation.

Speaking at the workshop, permanent vice president of the Hanoi women's union Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy emphasized that seeing the role and responsibility of the union in encouragement and support women to develop economy and improve their living standard, the women’s union at all levels of the capital actively and proactively participated in connecting the supply and consumption of safe agricultural products.

Dealing with the troubles of the COVID-19 pandemic on agricultural supply and production areas, the Hanoi women's union has flexibly organized activities to support the consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the production areas of Hanoi as well as launched the of cherishing the value of Vietnamese agricultural products - sharing love - overcoming the pandemic.

Since 2021, the women’s union at all levels have connected and supported farmers in the capital and provinces and cities nationwide to consume more than 2,500 tons of agricultural products; organize events to display and introduce women's creative agricultural products and assist women to build their agricultural brands.

In addition, the union has speeded up e-commerce with the aim of promoting key local products, connecting producer, distributor and consumer; developing websites and programs to connect businesswomen on introducing high-class products.   

At the workshop, delegates exchanged practical experiences and discussed solutions to promote the role of women and the women's union in participating in the development of supply chains and safe agricultural consumption as well as shared challenges in developing the current safe agricultural product consumption and supply chain.
