Growing up with a rare disorder and limited resources, Dinh Van K’Re faced a life of struggle until a teacher was able to provide him with the basic tools of and a desire for education.
Four years ago, teacher Dang Van Cuong met Dinh Van K’re. K’re is of the H’re ethnic minority and was only seven years old at their meeting.
Teacher Cuong was persistent in persuading the boy’s parents that it was important for him to pursue an education. Since then, Cuong has become the boy’s teacher, friend and also taken on the role as his parent away from home.
