Project to make Hue folk singing a unique tourism product

A draft project on “Promoting value and building Hue folk singing into a unique cultural tourism product in 2020-2025” has been proposed by the Department of Culture and Sports in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

The draft project involves areas such as research, collection, and restoration; building and developing performance spaces; improving product quality; propagation and promotion; and infrastructure investment, among others.

The initiative is aimed at building Hue royal court music into a typical and attractive tourism product that satisfies the demand of visitors.

Hue folk singing was named a national intangible cultural heritage in 2015 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The quality of folk singing performed along the Huong River for tourists, however, is yet to meet standards./
