PM congratulates Timor Leste Ambassador on fulfilling tasks

Hanoi, December 16 (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has congratulated Ambassador of Timor Leste Jorge Trindade Neves De Camoes on fulfilling assigned tasks during his four-year tenure in Vietnam.

During a reception in Hanoi on December 15, the Government leader hailed the growing bilateral ties over the past years, especially in trade and telecommunications, which he said, is partly attributable to the ambassador’s efforts.

Expressing his wish for increased economic ties, particularly in rice trade, the PM affirmed that Vietnam stands ready to supply rice to Timor Leste over a long term.

The outgoing ambassador informed the host that during his tenure, the two countries signed a bilateral trade agreement in 2013 and a memorandum of understanding on rice trade in 2015, among others.

He wished that the Vietnamese government would encourage firms to do business in Timor Leste and vowed that in any position, he will serve as a bridge to step up bilateral ties.
