Painting contest entries gifted to children’s hospital

Nearly 200 entries of the painting competition “Denmark in Your Eyes” were presented to the National Children’s Hospital at a ceremony in Hanoi on May 10.

Speaking at the event, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Højlund Christensen said many scientific studies in Demark have shown that the presence with visual art could ease tension and anxiety for families of the patients. He hoped the paintings would offer those children being treated here some relief.

Other entries of the contest were also sent to the Vietnam-German Friendship Hospital and the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine in a bid to create a more friendly treatment environment for patients.

These paintings were selected from over 4,100 submissions to the annual contest for children, which was first held by the Embassy of Denmark and Vietnam-Denmark Friendship Association in 2016.
