No new COVID-19 infection cases reported on May 9

No new COVID-19 infection cases were reported on May 9 afternoon, according to the Ministry of Health.

It means Vietnam has recorded no new COVID-19 infections in the community since 6:00 on April 16.

The country has so far confirmed 288 infection cases, including 148 imported ones who were quarantined right after their arrival.

As many as 14,403 people who had close contact with confirmed patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions have been kept under quarantine, including 175 at hospitals, 6,145 at other establishments and 8,083 at home.

Of the patients undergoing treatment, four tested negative for the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once and 13 others tested negative twice or more./.

The delegation, led by Eric Mathet, Operational Lead, the IAEA’s Nuclear Infrastructure Development Section, evaluated the current status of Vietnam’s national nuclear infrastructure according to the assessment criteria outlined by the IAEA for Stage 2 – assessing the readiness of a country to invite bids or negotiate contracts for the construction of its first nuclear power plant.
