Hoi An attractive to foreign tourists amid Covid-19 outbreak

While tourism in many localities nationwide is gloomy due to Covid-19 fears, the ancient town of Hoi An in Quang Nam province is still luring flocks of foreign tourists from Europe and America.

Travel bans have resulted in a significant drop in the number of Chinese and Korean visitors to the country in recent days, but Hoi An is still busy welcoming Western tourists. They, though cautious of the disease, still consider the ancient town a safe getaway destination.

According to statistics from the municipal government, the city is still attracting 10,000 guests staying overnight while 3,000 sightseeing tickets are sold every day. Most guests are from Europe and North America.

Thanks to the city’s proactive deployment of preventive measures against Covid-19, the local tourism sector seems unharmed amid the disease’s complicated developments./.
