Ho Chi Minh City leader welcomes Cuban guest

Ho Chi Minh City, June 23 (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City always considers the nurture of Vietnam-Cuba fraternal ties an important task, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh La Thang told visiting Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa during a reception on June 23.

He said the city is ready to share its experience with Cuba in urban development and investment attraction, and wants further cooperation with Cuba in various fields, particularly biotechnology, health care and education.

Ho Chi Minh City continually provides all possible support for foreign businesses, he stated.

The host also believed that the Communist Party of Cuba’s policies and guidelines will ride Cuba out of difficulties and firmly step towards socialism.

Mesa, for his part, affirmed that the bilateral ties will be strengthened, especially those between young generations.

According to him, his visit is to explore the possibility of tightening economic and trade ties with Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

He believed that the city will offer a lot of business opportunities to Cuban firms in the foreseeable future.
