Representatives from TST Tourism Company(TST) said thousands of touristsregistered to join inbound and outbound tours operated by the company during the festival, with those booking outbound tours accountingfor 60 percent.
Europe, Australia, the US, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan (China) have been attractive destinations forVietnamese visitors, the firm noted.
It is forecast that the number of tourists booking Tet toursorganised by TST this yearincreased 10 percent compared to the same period last year.
Tour operator Vietravel said it served 11,000 domestic and foreign visitors duringthe first two days of the Tet holiday.
Meanwhile,the Sai Gon Travel Service Company (Saigontourist) has organised half-day and one-day tours for foreigners who want to enjoy the Tet atmosphere of Vietnam in HCM City, and Mekong Delta localities.
Saigontourist aims to serve 21,500 holiday-makersduring the festival, up 10 percent year-on-year.
The firm plans to welcome 3,500 visitors, mainly from the US, on Luxury cruiser Celebrity Constellation, which will dock in Chan may port in the central province of Thua Thien - Hue on February 9.
