Appreciating the special and endemic products of the localities, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam suggested the suppliers to provide specific information of goods’ volume to the provinces as well as Hanoi to link the supply and demand hubs. Agricultural products must ensure the quality according to standards and regulations. Food safety is the main issue for implementing regional linkage.

Hanoi only produces and meets 30-65% of demand for agricultural products, so the city wishes to cooperate with other provinces and cities to promote the supply of those products, particularly for the upcoming Lunar New Year.

Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, Tran Thi Phuong Lan, said that prices of some essential commodities, such as pork, poultry, and seafood are currently declining sharply, so people are not interested in re-herding. Therefore, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade forecast a shortage in the supply of these products during the upcoming Lunar New Year.

Hanoi wishes Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of other provinces and cities help to coordinate with Hanoi in implementing a plan to serve the demand for the upcoming Lunar New Year and to introduce qualified producers of agricultural products and food to distribute their products within Hanoi.

“Hanoi is also ready to connect agricultural products of provinces and cities with foreign supermarket channels such as MM Mega Market, BigC, and Aeon Mall while advertising safe agricultural products and food on 600 e-commerce platforms to boost exports,” said Tran Thi Phuong Lan.
