Foreign enterprise joins Hanoi-Hai Phong railway project

Hanoi, April 13 (VNA) –The Italian-Thai Development Public Co. Ltd (ITD) and the Importcorp company (IMP) will conduct a study on a 100-kilometre railway linking the capital of Hanoi and the port city of Hai Phong.

The announcement was made at a working session recently held between the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the two investors.

The 800 million-USD project, conducted under a public-private partnership, will include the creation of bond-houses, storage, infrastructure and facilities at Dinh Vu port, serving railway services.

In the first phase, a single-track railway with a standard gauge of 1.435m will be installed, with a double-track railway deployed in the next phases.

The project is expected to be implemented in the second quarter of 2017 and completed after 3 and a half years of construction.

Vietnam, IAEA comprehensively assess national nuclear power infrastructure

The delegation, led by Eric Mathet, Operational Lead, the IAEA’s Nuclear Infrastructure Development Section, evaluated the current status of Vietnam’s national nuclear infrastructure according to the assessment criteria outlined by the IAEA for Stage 2 – assessing the readiness of a country to invite bids or negotiate contracts for the construction of its first nuclear power plant.
