Vietnam’s Sun Group inaugurated the first five-star international boutique hotel Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery by Sofitel in Sa Pa resort district, the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on December 15.
Belonging to the world’s leading hotel management group AccorHotels Group, Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery by Sofitel boasts nearly 250 rooms designed by architect Bill Bensley, who fused the local culture, French history and vibrant modern ambiance of Sapa into one impressive property.
For fine dining and cocktail enthusiasts, Chic restaurant, Absinthe bar and French bakery Cacao will offer a variety of delectable selections. Heated swimming pool Le Grand Bassin, Nuages Spa, junior club Bobbins, and convention rooms also serve guests up to five-star standards.
Vice President and CEO of Sun Group Dang Minh Truong said the new hotel marks a new milestone of Sun Group in its journey with Lao Cai province to bring Sa Pa tourism to a greater height.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Xuan Phong also committed all possible support for businesses investing in Lao Cai.

The number of tourist arrivals to Lao Cai is expected to surpass 4.3 million this year, up 22.7 percent year-on-year. Three million of them arrived in Sa Pa, up 60 percent annually.
It is forecast that Sa Pa will serve nearly 4 million visitors by 2020 and 8 million by 2030.
