Returning to Vietnam, singer Duc Phuc met with media agencies in Hanoi on the afternoon of September 27 to share his journey to becoming the Intervision 2025 champion.
According to the rules, the winner was determined by a secret ballot from an international jury. With his outstanding performance, Duc Phuc's name was announced as the official champion, and he was awarded the Intervision crystal trophy and a prize worth 30 million rubles (more than 9 billion dong).
Notably, the moment Duc Phuc was named the top winner coincided with September 20, the 10th anniversary of his victory in The Voice of Vietnam in 2015. After a decade of continuous effort and growth, Duc Phuc has affirmed his remarkable progress, reaching an international stage and becoming a prominent face of Vietnam's young generation of singers.
In his media-sharing session on the afternoon of September 27, Duc Phuc expressed his wish for this victory to inspire more and serve as a motivation for Vietnamese artists to confidently embark on their journey to the world. In addition to the first charitable donation he made in Russia—as a way of honoring the host country and demonstrating the compassionate spirit of the Vietnamese people—he also revealed that he will donate 1 billion dong to domestic charities as a way to celebrate his win and commemorate a meaningful 10 years in his career.
When asked by a Vietnam Pictorial reporter about his plans for future international artistic activities, Duc Phuc said that his victory at Intervision 2025 is not a goodbye, but a new beginning for his next plans in Russia. He and the organizers have discussed a series of concerts for Intervision contestants in various cities. Additionally, several contestants from Intervision 2025 have invited him to collaborate on new products. Duc Phuc will carefully consider these opportunities to ensure everything is done seriously and meticulously.
When asked about the affection shown by Vietnamese, Russian, and international audiences during the competition, Duc Phuc said he was surprised by how much love he received. During the performance nights, the studio audience cheered whenever Vietnam's name or his image appeared. And when he was crowned, the audience, mostly Russians and other foreigners, chanted "Vietnam". Some surveys conducted by his team in Russia showed that audiences there voted for Duc Phuc as the artist they most wanted to see perform again.
On the evening of September 20 (Russia time), at the Live Arena stadium in Moscow, Duc Phuc, representing Vietnam, brilliantly won the championship title at the Intervision 2025 international music competition, an event that brought together many great talents from around the world. This victory quickly became a focal point, attracting special attention from the public both in Vietnam and abroad.
In the final round, Duc Phuc performed "Phu Dong Thien Vuong," a song composed by Ho Hoai Anh, with a rap by Phuc Du and English lyrics by Orange. Inspired by Nguyen Duy's poem "Vietnamese Bamboo," the work combines traditional epic elements with a modern twist, making it rich in Vietnamese identity while also accessible to international audiences. His emotional, technical, and meticulously-prepared performance helped Duc Phuc secure 422 points, far ahead of the runner-up.
Duc Phuc’s victory at Intervision 2025 not only made waves in Vietnam but was also widely reported by international media with many positive reviews. Major news agencies such as Reuters, AP News, and The Independent praised "Phu Dong Thien Vuong" as a unique performance that skillfully blended Vietnamese folk elements with pop, rap, and dubstep, while also acknowledging the creativity of his team.
Following the victory at the Intervision competition, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory letter, commending Duc Phuc for his outstanding effort and achievement. The Prime Minister emphasized: "This achievement is not only a great honor for singer Duc Phuc personally, but also a source of shared pride for Vietnam's contemporary music and culture" He also affirmed that the event holds special significance as it marks Vietnam's return to Intervision for the first time in over 40 years, conveying a message of friendship and the unifying power of music that transcends all differences./.
