The Bac Luan II bridge is expected to facilitate the flow of goods between Vietnam and China, while Bac Luan I bridge will be used for people’s travelling.
The Bac Luan II bridge was inaugurated in September 2017 after nearly three years of construction. It was built under the cooperation of the two provinces to bolster bilateral trade, services and tourism.
The Bac Luan II is 618 metres in length and 27.7 metres in width. A part stretching 154.5 metres of the bridge was built by the Vietnamese side, while the Chinese side was responsible for the remaining.
Quang Ninh province had also built a 3.5 km road section leading to the bridge and a 7,000 sq.m storehouse with modern equipment.
The province will continue the construction of Van Don-Mong Cai expressway later this month, which will be connected to the road to the Bac Luan II bridge.
Upon its completion, it will form part of the longest expressway in Vietnam, running through the cities of Mong Cai, Ha Long, Hai Phong and Hanoi, and Lao Cai province.
