ASIAD 2018: Vietnam grabs a silver in Karate

Karate athlete Nguyen Minh Phung won a silver medal in the men’s 84kg kumite (combat) event at the ongoing Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia on August 25.

Phung’s medal was beyond experts’ expectation and he has fought for it with remarkable efforts.

It is the first medal of the Vietnamese team on the seventh day of the regional largest sporting event.

As of 6:30pm on August 25, Vietnam had earned one gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals at the ASIAD 2018.
