ASEAN Family Day celebrated in Cambodia

Phnom Penh, December 16 (VNA) – The ASEAN Family Day was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on December 16.

The event, jointly organised by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and embassies of ASEAN members in the country, is part of activities in 2017 to mark the founding and development of ASEAN over 50 years.

Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia Christopher Montero said ASEAN members have spared no efforts into building a stronger ASEAN Community, adding that the ASEAN Family Day aims to enhance mutual understanding and friendship of the member countries.

Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luy David said in addition to initiatives and cooperation programmes, people to people exchanges and mutual understanding play a key role in the sustainable development of the ASEAN Community.
