Trieu Khuc Village Festival

Annually on the 9th-12th days of January in the lunar year, the villagers in Trieu Khuc Village, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi are excited about the festival with traditional rites and cultural activities to commemorate Bo Cai Dai Vuong Phung Hung who is considered their patron saint.
Besides the procession of ordinance, the ceremony offering betels or sacrifices, the festival had many interesting folk games such as the lion dance, cock-fighting and wrestling that are full of the cultural identities of the Red River delta. The festival also retains its distinctive features with two ancient dances called “Con di danh bong” and “Mua chay co”. These are among ten ancient dances, which were honoured at the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long- Hanoi.
